This 2-day adventure tour combined the most interesting remote ancient temples including Preah Vihear temple, Pre-Angkorian pyramid “Koh Ker” and the lost temple “Beng Mealea”. The adventure is also admired by the Khmer Rouge stronghold “Ta Mok’s house”, the former military strongman.

Destination: Cambodia > Siem Reap > Preah Vihear

Day 1
We depart at 7.00am, the journey takes approximately 3 hours to the foothill of Dangrek Mountain. One the way, we visit the Khmer Rouge stronghold, Ta Mok’s house, the former military strongman called Ta Mok. After arriving at the foothill, we continue by 4WD car to go up to the top of the mountain where we have a guided tour around Preah Vihear temple, the most spectacular setting of all the temples, was built in the late 11th century by Khmer Empire under the reign of Suryavarman I. We discover the temple area and enjoy the breathtaking with beautiful landscape of Cambodia & Thailand. We return by 4WD car to our regular car then we drive to Preah Vihear town for an overnight stay (own account).

Day 2
Check out hotel at 8.00am, we drive directly to Koh Ker temple, visit the remnants of the Khmer Empire’s capital, the Pre-Angkorian temple, constructed in the late 9th century. Unlock the amazing pyramid architecture unparalleled is the seven‑tiered and 36-metre high, a double sanctuary (Prasat Thom/Prang), follows a linear plan and not a concentric one like most of the temples of the Khmer kings. Continue driving to visit Beng Mealea. We walk within the lush jungle to explore the lost temple. Since the temple was constructed during the reign of king Suryavarman II in the early 12th century until then it’s never been restored again. It provides wonderful adventure which you’re going to climb over/down the ruined rocks, walking into the gallery to unlock the carvings and its interesting history of the Hindu temple related Angkor time. Beng Mealea jungle temple is beautifully considered as the best less touristy spot for those who want to feel the tranquility as well as having the passion in taking picturesque photos. Transfer back to your hotel in Siem Reap.

This tour is required valid Preah Vihear temple pass which can be purchased at price $10/pax, Koh Kher $10/pax, Beng Mealea $5/pax, directly at booths, $1/pax donation is required at Ta Mok House museum and 1 overnight stay in Preah Vihear. However our tour guide will assist you with all of these.

When is the best time to visit?

The best time to these temples is from November to February when the weather is a bit cool and everything looks green, and fresh. Due to the distances, these temples are always less touristy.

Dressing code & What to bring along?

Dressing must be appropriately covered shoulders & knees, this is to show your respect to the locals and active sites. Strong footwear is extremely advised for this trip and should bring along hat, sun cream, sunglasses, insect repellent and extra water to dehydrate due to humidity.
